Messenger by Lois Lowry

Messenger
by Lois Lowry

2004, 167 pp.

Rating: 4

It's very hard to describe Messenger without giving away parts of The Giver and Gathering Blue. This is the third book in that trilogy. So I'm not going to say anything about the book, other than I enjoyed it very much but consider it to be the weakest of the three. It was nice to have a sequel that wrapped up (somewhat) the other two titles.

I had no idea there was a trilogy. I'll have to tell my son; he loved The Giver. I'm afraid to look for his copy - his room is more than a little scary.

I used to love Lois Lowry when I was a child and I will definately be expanding my collection of her books.

Hi all. I only want to say I have just finished to read the messenger. I am a spanish speaker, I am learning english so i was "forced" to read the novel for a subject named Reading and writing. I really enjoyed reading it, althought I have to admit i had serious problems trying to understand all of words there were written, but i could manage it, I meant, I understood the novel`s esence. I am writing this because I wanted to participate at least giving a commentary about the novel.
